I Wish They Taught Money in High School {Book Review}

At a very early age, my mother taught me to value money, she explained to me the importance of prioritizing our needs and think less of that is not a necessity. I may be an only child, but never did they spoil me with things that are dubbed as "luxuries". Instead, my mother instilled in me that "If you want something so badly, you got to earn and save for it." that's when I learned.

So when there was an opportunity to do a book review, which is actually my first, I grabbed the chance right away. A book that I badly need just in time!

I Wish They Taught Money in High School is a 2-in-1 book written by two good friends.

I Wish They Taught Money in High School, SO I CAN START MY OWN BUSINESS RIGHT AWAY was written by Ms. Sharon W. Que, who shared her story that at a very early age, she was taught how to value money, that made her decide to be financially free and independent while enjoying the perks of having her own time. I am also amazed how she and her friends reaped all the hardships they encountered when they were just starting up. That no matter how big or small your business and the risk that you'll take, as long as you dream big, have determination, commitment, and perseverance this will then lead to a great success.

I Wish They Taught Money in High School, SO I'M NOT DEPENDENT ON MY PAYCHECK was written by Ms. Clarissa Seriña-De La Paz tackles about how to be wise with your money even if you are employed. There, she encourages not to be just contented with your salary, but instead find a way for that paycheck to multiply by investing it wisely.

I both tried earning money through business and paycheck. In business, I was happy with what I'm doing. I earned, I am my own boss, and I own my time. When I was working, I was financially secured in a sense that in every two weeks I will get paid no matter what, as long as I go to work 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. What I liked about having a business and working is I was able to save money. However, what I didn't do that time was to invest so I can have a passive income.

But it's never too late, right?! It's about time for us to be financially wise. I am highly recommending this book to get tips on how to start it right.

My First Win: Pouches & Body Scrub

I'm a self-confessed not-so contest junkie and for the past 3 years I've been enjoying winning from different online contests, may it be from blog, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

This year is different though, since I've become busy with my fabric flowers, I don't join online contests that much anymore. If time permitted me, I would just join whenever I could. I don't exert too much effort as well, I don't do daily entries on Rafflecopter or sharing the giveaway picture on Facebook as often as I could. I just solely rely on luck.

Thankfully, I've got my first win for this year! I won from @Blancnote's Instagram contest where I got pouches from FabManila and an Aromanice Beautyous Girl Power Body Scrub.

I haven't tried the scrub yet, but the pouches were all wonderful. The pink and yellow one keeps all my credit card receipts and my passbook, while the green one serves as my beauty pouch. ^_^

Thank you Ms. Blanca of @Blancnotes!

{Review} Celeteque DermoScience – Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener

Here's another great product from Celeteque that I have also recently tried, the CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener.

I know most of you have puffy dark under-eye circle like me as a result of staying up all night and sleeping late. This has become my routine since the day I gave birth, never again have I experienced a straight 8-10 hours of sleep. But it's okay, that's my duty as a mom. Thankfully, there are now products specially made to reduce puffy eye bags and dark under-eye circle.

The Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener cream from Celeteque's Brightening Line contains an Eyeseryl® Tetrapeptide Complex that effectively counters the formation of loose skin around the eyes by improving skin elasticity and fighting water accumulation, the 2 main drivers of puffiness around the eyes. It also significantly lightens the skin around the eyes for a brighter look, in just 4 weeks. Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, it is proven safe and effective. It is also hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic, which means it doesn't have ingredients that will clog your pores or would result to more skin problems.

I liked how it was packed in a 15ml tube with a tiny nozzle to release a little cream just enough for an eye application. The tube contains cream enough for 4 weeks of use, so you actually don't need to buy another tube if you haven't finished the 4-week treatment.

The first time I applied it around my eyes I felt a little bit of coolness, though I preferred for stronger cooling effect. After a few minutes when it dried out, the skin around my eyes felt nicely smooth. You just have to be very careful not to get the product into your eyes, because it's a bit stingy. When that happens, rinse your eyes thoroughly with water.

If you want to remove that puffy dark under-eye circle, use CELETEQUE Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener day and night for effective result in just 4 weeks!

CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles Lightener is available in all leading drugstore and supermarkets at Php299.00 (SRP). If you want to know more about Unilab, visit their website HERE.

{Review} Celeteque DermoScience - Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm

For several years I always choose lip balm/gloss over lipstick as my primary lip essential simply because it's where I'm comfortable with. My lips get easily dry and irritated after using a lipstick, so it's very important for me that the product I choose wouldn't do any harm on my lips.

The one that I have recently tried is the CELETEQUE Soothing Lip Balm from their Sun Care Line. This lip balm is specially created with SPF 15 and has double sunscreen protection against UVA/UVB rays for the lips. It also contains Mulberry Extract that helps brighten and lighten darkened lips and Moisturizing Oils to keep the lips healthy with their softening and smoothing benefits.

The Soothing Lip Balm is dermatologist tested and hypo-allergenic which made it safe and proven effective for daily use as a lip moisturizer as well as to soothe wind burns, dry and chapped lips.

Perfect for our current weather, I'm using it every day. Since it comes in a small container, I just gently apply it on my lips using my index finger; a little reminder though you just have to make sure that your hands are clean before application.

After testing it for a week, I've noticed that my lips are soft and more moisturized. And with the kind of weather we're in now, I haven't experienced dryness and chapped lips unlike before.

I just hope CELETEQUE could come up with a stick version, that way it would be more hygienic and will have a lesser bulge-effect when it's in the pocket. I'm also looking for that mint cooling effect when applied on the lips, I felt a little bit of it though, it's just that I preferred it to be more stronger and long lasting. It's more soothing for me that way, especially if the lips are so dry and irritated.

CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm with SPF15 is available in all leading drugstore and supermarkets at Php190.00 (SRP). If you want to know more about Unilab, visit their website HERE.
